Facilitator Training Manual: Mental Health Recovery including WRAP Curriculum

This manual is the cornerstone of the Mental Health Recovery and WRAP program, an eight-week evidence-based peer group intervention. It is designed for use by people who facilitate WRAP groups and is the text for a five-day WRAP Facilitator certification training. It is intended for use by peer co-facilitators trained and certified by WRAP Facilitators by the Copeland Center for Wellness and Recovery or by Copeland Center-certified Advanced Level WRAP Facilitators. This manualized, non-scripted program is based on years of research experience by Mary Ellen Copeland, PhD, and the Copeland Center for Wellness and Recovery. This popular educational evidence-based curriculum presents an approach that is complementary to, but not a replacement for, other mental health treatment protocols. It is flexible and can be easily adapted to meet different needs. A variety of formats, timelines, and activities are included. You will have at your disposal a thorough framework that will allow you to design a program that best meets your needs.

A WRAP Workbook for Kids

With the help of three great kids, Hawk, Esther, and Akincana, this delightful book will guide children ages 7 to 12 through the process of developing their own Wellness Recovery Action Plan. It will help them discover all the things they can do to feel well, stay well, and feel better when the going is hard. It starts with listing all those good and fun things that they can use to develop their action plans, like running with the dog, coloring, and talking to a friend. Using these tools, the book guides them through the process of listing:
  • What they need to do every day to stay healthy and well
  • Things that might upset them and what they can do if these things happen
  • Signs that they are not feeling well and things they can do to help themselves feel better
  • Signs that things are going badly and things that they can do to make the situation better
As children work on these plans, it helps to have supportive parents, teachers, and other adults who provide encouragement and praise as they grow, change, make good decisions, and take positive action on their own behalf. Developing a WRAP is creative, fun, and life-changing for everyone involved.

A WRAP Workbook for Kids

With the help of three great kids, Hawk, Esther, and Akincana, this delightful book will guide children ages 7 to 12 through the process of developing their own Wellness Recovery Action Plan. It will help them discover all the things they can do to feel well, stay well, and feel better when the going is hard. It starts with listing all those good and fun things that they can use to develop their action plans, like running with the dog, coloring, and talking to a friend. Using these tools, the book guides them through the process of listing:
  • What they need to do every day to stay healthy and well
  • Things that might upset them and what they can do if these things happen
  • Signs that they are not feeling well and things they can do to help themselves feel better
  • Signs that things are going badly and things that they can do to make the situation better
As children work on these plans, it helps to have supportive parents, teachers, and other adults who provide encouragement and praise as they grow, change, make good decisions, and take positive action on their own behalf. Developing a WRAP is creative, fun, and life-changing for everyone involved.
